and expression services in E. coli and Baculovirus.
If there are no commercial sources from which to
purchase a protein, or if it is very difficult (or
expensive) to purify from native tissues, the best way
to obtain a protein may be to clone the gene, express it
in E. coli or Baculovirus, and purify the
gene product.
We
recommend a small trial expression run, and then will
scale-up the project if it looks feasible. In
general, an expression project may cost between $10,000
– $30,000. Once the system is expressing the desired
protein, we recommend

Once the system is expressing the desired protein, we
can calculate how many production runs will be necessary
to generate the target amount of protein. At that point,
we can then determine the fee for additional production
runs.
Because
cloning, expression, and purification is considered
basic research, positive results cannot be guaranteed,
nor can we guarantee a specified volume of protein to be
produced. As the success of the protein expression is
largely dependent upon the gene construct and expression
of the system, these prices must be considered a
guideline rather than a set fee. For a specific
