Magic Red™ Kits
Assess protease activity in real time with Magic Red™ fluorogenic substrate assays
Sensitive indicators of protease activity
- No wash steps necessary
- Analyze signal with standard fluorescence detection methods
Magic Red™ substrate-based assays are used to monitor protease activity over time, offering a clear picture of protease-positive versus protease-negative cells. Assay kits are available for detecting caspase-3/7 activity, cathepsin B activity, cathepsin B activity, and cathepsin L activity. Fluorescence microscopy and fluorescence plate reader are the recommended method of detecting the cleaved substrate, which has an optimal excitation at 590 nm and an emission maximum at >610 nm.
Visualize caspase-3/7 activity occuring over time with the use of the Magic Red Caspase-3/7 Substrate: movie clip (requires Windows Media Player or similar)
