Joe S.
Advance
your career
Joe S. says: I was
just a lab tech and everybody ignored me until I wore my
'Apoptosis Happens' t-shirt from ICT. The head of the department
actually asked me about my experiments. Now we're buds and I'm
going to medical school!
Erin C.
Get dates
Erin C. says: I wore
my 'Caspases Turn Me On' t-shirt from ICT to a MN Twins baseball
game. Some drunk guy asked me if he could be my caspase. Too bad
he wasn't as dreamy as Joe Mauer!
Rachel
C.
Make
your kids smarter
Rachel C. says: My
auntie went to AACR and got me this awesome 'I get excited at 488'
t-shirt from ICT.
Now
I know that many common laboratory fluorescence instruments
include an air-cooled argon-ion laser that delivers a circular
TEM00 Gaussian output beam at 488nm. This beam
profile can be focused to a diffraction-limited spot or beam
waist, providing spatial resolution down to the wavelength of
the laser light. This property, coupled with excellent
beam-pointing stability and low-intensity noise, is essential in
applications such as confocal microscopy and flow cytometry. In
flow cytometry, the laser beam (or beams) focuses to an
elliptical spot in a stream of cells. Resultant Stokes-shifted
fluorescence is separated by dichroic filters and detected by
photomultiplier tubes. This allows counting and identifying
cells according to their fluorescence intensities in the
emission wavelength bands throughout the visible spectrum. Plus,
pink is my favorite color!
Katie C.
Make
your kids happier
Katie C. says: 'Hocus
Pocus Apoptosis' is funny! It rhymes!
Gary J.
Express
yourself
Gary J. says: My
TUNEL experiment didn't work at all. Why didn't I just use FLICA™
from the beginning? Now I wear my 'Better Off Dead' shirt from
ICT and people understand my angst.
What
kind of shirts are they and how will they fit?
Most of the t-shirts are from American Apparel, and their website is
fairly detailed with pictures and colors. Men's style is
#2001. Most of the women's shirts are style #6321
(thin, girly, fitted); some of them are style #2102
(thicker, boxier).
